Job summary

Schaeffler is hiring a Group Leader – Receiving in Fort Mill, SC to lead inbound logistics, manage staff, and optimize SAP-based receiving controls. You will drive safety, accuracy, and cost efficiencies while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

You will oversee KPI development, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure timely put-away, inventory integrity, and optimal dock utilization in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered
• Leadership experience in warehouse receiving, logistics, materials management, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment, including direct supervision of team leads or hourly employees
• Strong knowledge of SAP receiving processes, including inbound deliveries, goods receipts, handling units, transfers, put-away, and inventory controls
• Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, capacity, equipment, productivity, service levels, and operating costs
• Experience with KPI management, performance reporting, root-cause analysis, corrective action, Lean methods, and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of inventory accuracy, material flow, quality controls, warehouse safety, OSHA and EHS requirements, material-handling equipment, and 5S practices
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to develop employees, lead change, manage competing priorities, and balance safety, quality, service, inventory integrity, and cost

Responsibilities

• Lead receiving operations across applicable shifts and projects, ensuring inbound materials are received, recorded, and put away safely, accurately, on time, and cost-effectively
• Manage and develop Warehouse Receiving Team Lead(s) by setting clear expectations, overseeing performance, coordinating staffing and training, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Own SAP receiving processes and controls, ensuring accurate and timely inbound-delivery, goods-receipt, handling-unit, transfer, and put-away transactions while resolving backlogs, errors, and complex system issues
• Plan and optimize resources and capacity, including labor, overtime, dock doors, equipment, staging areas, and storage space, to meet inbound demand, service requirements, productivity goals, and cost targets
• Protect inventory accuracy and material integrity by overseeing shipment verification, labeling, staging, put-away, inventory reconciliation, and the resolution of shortages, overages, damages, discrepancies, and nonconforming materials
• Own receiving performance management, including KPI definitions, reporting, operating reviews, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and escalation of risks affecting safety, inventory, material availability, or customer service
• Ensure safety, compliance, and operational discipline by enforcing Schaeffler standards, site procedures, work instructions, PPE requirements, OSHA and EHS expectations, equipment controls, and 5S practices
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Quality, Inventory Control, IT, carriers, suppliers, and other partners to improve material flow, SAP compliance, productivity, accuracy, dock utilization, and cost
