Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is seeking a Receiving Lead to verify correct merchandise is received in optimal condition and in right quantities. You will coordinate with the receiving team and truck drivers, maintain records of shipments, and help resolve discrepancies.

The role involves dock duties, data entry, collaboration with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This on-site position supports perishable and frozen warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming outside Truck Drivers and direct to proper loading bay
• Work with Receivers to verify contents and quantities of incoming shipments
• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment
• Record shipment data into computer system, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes
• Enter purchase order receipts into computer system and print receiving tags for use by Receivers
• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for delivery of materials
• Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
• Assist Supervisor with varied office and dock responsibilities including filing
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• Specialized Knowledge : Knowledgeable of inbound procedures and experience working as a Backhaukler/Unloader and/or Receiver
• Special Skills : Read, write, operate MHE equipment (pallet jack), other required materials handling equipment (MHE), effective communication skills, team player, attention to detail, organizational and problem solving skills, Comfortable using technology
• Physical abilities: : You will be constantly seeing, hearing, sitting and handling paperwork. Occasionally, you will be standing, walking, driving, bending, twisting feeling, reaching, stooping, climbing, balancing, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, and gripping items ranging from under 20 lbs. to over 60 lbs.
• Other: : Steel Toed shoes are required; Compliance with all company policies and procedures
