Job summary

IMS is seeking a Receiving Specialist in San Jose, CA to perform detailed inspections of incoming shipments, verify contents, and document findings. The role requires strong attention to detail and experience with measuring tools.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating with Materials, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Quality teams, maintaining records, and handling inventory in the ERP system. Experience with forklifts and safe work practices is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of senior or lead experience overseeing stores, logistics, and inventory.
• 4+ years’ experience with first/in-process and/or final material inspection.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and basic data entry systems.
• Experience using forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect detailed incoming shipments; identify discrepancies or damage, take action.
• Verify contents against purchase orders, packing docs, and inspection checklist.
• Use basic measuring tools to validate measurement accuracy of incoming products.
• Identify and document Material Non-Conformances at Receiving Inspection.
• Complete, maintain, and distribute quality records and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of material and stock/overstock locations.
• Accurately receive items into the inventory system with proper records.
• Perform basic inventory control functions such as stocking and cycle counts.
