Job summary

LISI AEROSPACE in Torrance, CA is seeking a Warehouse Clerk responsible for receiving, verifying, and staging incoming materials. You will coordinate with Purchasing, update records, and help keep inventory accurate.

The role requires attention to detail, basic computer skills for data entry, and the ability to operate manual material handling equipment. This full-time position offers stability and opportunities within a growing aerospace supplier.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; 2+ years shipping/receiving experience preferred.
  • Experience with basic computer applications for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Knowledge of logistics terminology and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Examine contents and verify with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes of incoming materials.
  • Confer and correspond with Purchasing to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
  • Delivers and retrieves wire and equipment form the raw materials storage to shop floor and/or moves production parts to various operations.
  • Performs stocking and re-stocking, ensuring that all product and materials have accurate weight and/or piece count.
  • Prepares pallets, loads and unloads raw material and finished product onto truck, vans or automobile for deliveries.
  • Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
  • Verifies that all product and materials have accurate and appropriate identification tags, documentation, and/or paperwork.
  • Reports any mechanical problems encountered with forklifts and powered lifts
  • Performs cycle counting.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
  • All employees are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
  • Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste

SUMMARY

Verify and keep records on incoming shipments. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and receiving merchandise or material; unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; or more than 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working experience of shipping and receiving procedures
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Word Processing and Spreadsheet software

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills
