Job summary

Ventura Foods in Albert Lea, MN is seeking a Receiving Forklift Operator. You will unload raw materials from trailers, place goods into inventory, and move them to proper locations while maintaining accurate paperwork.

The role requires forklift certification and a high school diploma or equivalent, with emphasis on reading, writing, and math skills. Work is onsite with potential for shift-based pay differentials and adherence to safety programs.

• Ensure FIFO is followed and locator system policies are adhered to.
• Follow all food safety policies, SQF code, FSMA and related programs.

Position Summary:

Unloads raw materials from trailers and ensuring products received are put into inventory and put away in proper location.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate either a sitdown and/or standup forklift in an efficient manner.

Unload trailers (in-bound trucks) and locate in appropriate area(s) within facility.

Accurately complete all paperwork associated with the handling of shipments.

Support production lines by supplying them with necessary packaging.

Ensure FIFO is followed

Follow locator system policies.

Responsible for following all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls and safety programs.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent experience. Must have good reading, writing and math skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

Individual must be forklift certified by Ventura Foods and able to physically perform tasks required of position.

• Hourly starting rate of $$25.65 with opportunities for hourly rate increases and career progression. Positions on 2nd and 3rd shifts are eligible for a $0.25/hr shift differential.

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements. In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:

• Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
• Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used inoperations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
