Urschel is seeking a Receiving Clerk & Material Handler for 2nd shift in Chesterton, IN. The role is full-time Monday-Thursday with potential Friday work depending on workloads.

Starting pay is $23.97/hour plus a 5% shift differential. Responsibilities include unloading, receiving, operating forklifts and cranes, and distributing items to the correct areas in a climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related work experience.
• 2) High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3) Ability to understand written and/or oral instructions.
• 4) Must be able to sit/stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and check incoming materials.
• Fill out receiving forms for incoming material.
• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Verify items for correctness, quality, and quantity.
• Deliver items to proper department or storage area.
• Provide supplies to other shop areas as needed.

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Receiving Clerk & Material Handler for our 2nd shift operations working full-time Monday-Thursday and may require working on Friday based on workloads.

Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. A day in the life of a Receiving Clerk & Material Handler includes the following responsibilities: unload trucks, checking all incoming materials and keeping the warehouse in proper order. Fill out the necessary receiving forms for incoming material. Operate various types of material handling equipment, including industrial vehicles (such as forklifts) and overhead cranes in a safe and efficient manner as part of daily responsibilities. Verify as to correctness of items, quality, and quantity. Deliver incoming items to the proper department or storage area. Deliver upon request supplies to other areas of shop.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of one-year work experience in a related environment with a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to comprehend written and/or oral instructions. Physical demands include frequent durations of both sitting and standing, repetitive stooping and bending, substantial wrist movements and forearm rotation.
