Job summary

Big Tex Trailers is seeking a Warehouse Receiving Clerk to coordinate warehousing, receiving, and material transport. You will ensure material needs are met, sign for deliveries, and process returns, while maintaining accurate inventory and records.

You will collaborate with plant management to forecast needs, verify invoices, and resolve shipment discrepancies. The role requires reliability, basic reports, and proficiency with standard office software. On-site in Texas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six or more months of related experience preferred.
  • Experience receiving materials from purchase orders in inventory systems a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare simple reports and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Accept and sign for all incoming deliveries from distributors and suppliers.
  • Process returns for defective or incorrect items.
  • Check shipping invoices for accuracy of items received.
  • Collaborate with plant management to determine supply needs and create purchase orders.
  • Resolve shipment discrepancies with sellers or distributors.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts.
  • Process transfers for shipments to other locations.
  • Maintain records of all received shipments and log data in inventory systems.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries as needed.
  • Keep stock room clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Report delays or problems to plant management.

Job Description

Responsible for the coordination of warehousing, and receiving of materials. Oversees transport of materials to and from location and ensures material needs are met.

Job Summary:
  • Accepts and signs for all incoming deliveries from distributors and/or suppliers.
  • Processes returns for any defective or incorrect items.
  • Checks shipping invoices to ensure all items are accounted for.
  • Collaborates with plant management to determine supply needs and prepares purchase orders.
  • Contacts seller or distributor to resolve shipment discrepancies.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy, conducts regular cycle counts, and maintains Kanban's.
  • Processes transfers for shipments relocating to other locations.
  • Processes payment for invoices upon receipt of delivery.
  • Maintains records of all received shipments.
  • Conducts inventory of all plant direct and indirect materials and logs data into inventory database.
  • Contacts distributor to inquire about shipment delays or problems.
  • Works with Inventory Control Clerk to ensure stock room is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Reports any major or unresolved shipment delays or problems to plant management.
  • Assists with unloading shipments from delivery truck as needed.
  • Stores, restocks, and shelves delivery items as needed.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy of finished goods "Frames and Bed Frames" on daily basis.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy of stacking woods on daily basis.
  • Other tasks may be assigned.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Six or more months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience receiving in materials from a purchasing order in the inventory program strongly preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare basic reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal form.
  • Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 40+ pounds.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory software systems for the purpose of shipping and billing.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Frequently exposed to an office and manufacturing/industrial environment.
