Job summary

WEG in Missouri seeks a Shipping Clerk to handle shipping and receiving, verify materials, and route items to correct departments.

You will operate forklifts and cranes, unload loads safely, verify carrier documents, and prepare shipments with accuracy while maintaining inventory records and complying with safety policies.

Candidate should have 1-3 years shipping/receiving experience, be proficient in MS Office, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Unload product correctly using the appropriate handling techniques
• Verify the driver, trailer, and bills are all for that specific carrier and location
• Review freight with the driver and ensures all customer requirements are followed
• Unload the trailer and record data as necessary
• Prepare product correctly (labeled, over-packed, palletized, shrink-wrapped, stacked appropriately)
• Maintain accurate inventory records
• Process shipments with FedEx, UPS or other Logistics company
• Create Shippers Letter of Instructions, Bill of Lading or other documents as required
• Ability to visually verify per job instructions
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow multiple instructions at one time
• Actively participate in cross training though out the department to improve and broaden the employee's skill set
• Work productively and ensure timely flow of orders through the department
• Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies and in line with Marathon core values

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical capabilities include but are not limited to: frequent walking and standing, occasional twisting, stooping, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling; climbing, kneeling, and lifting 20-35 lbs. frequently and 26-50 lbs. occasionally.

• Majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate-controlled areas. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed.
• While performing the duties of this job, employees regularly stand and use hands and arms for the duration of their shift.
• Employees must regularly lift parts up to 35 pounds.
• Must be physically able to push/pull motors. Bending and stopping to lift items.
• Must be able to manipulate large motors, parts, and crates on a regular basis.
