Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking a Receiving Clerk to accurately receive, inspect, and document all incoming shipments and deliveries. The role includes verifying contents against purchase orders, reporting discrepancies, and organizing received goods for distribution or storage.

You will use dollies, forklifts and other equipment to move items, maintain stockroom organization, and assist in transfers between locations while supporting smooth operations for clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Two years supply chain related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sign for deliveries from distributors/vendors.
• Inspect shipments and verify contents against purchase orders.
• Document discrepancies and report issues to buyers.
• Organize stock in the warehouse and restock as needed.
• Operate moving equipment to transport shipments within the stockroom.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and respond to staff inquiries.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments and deliveries.

Every day you will verify contents against purchase orders, identify and report discrepancies or damages, and organize received goods for proper distribution or storage.

To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, efficient organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting smooth operations.

• Accepts and signs for deliveries from distributors/vendors and assists in unloading shipments from delivery trucks.
• Uses dollies, forklifts and other moving equipment to transport shipments from loading dock and around the stockroom.
• Opens boxes and inspects contents of shipments, contacting buyers to resolve shipment discrepancies and processing returns for any defective or incorrect items.
• Stores, restocks and shelves delivery items as necessary and ensures that the stockroom is clean and organized.
• Processes transfers for shipments moving on to another location.
• Maintains records of all received shipment and contacts distributors/vendors directly or works with buyers to inquire about any shipment issues.
• Addresses and answers clinical staff inquiries about pending orders and shipments.
