Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across our patient populations in Southeast Tennessee.

You will perform assessments, administer medications and therapies, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and safety. This role requires strong critical thinking, urgency in fast-paced settings, and dedication to excellence and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Tennessee.
  • Experienced in inpatient care and skilled procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic and patient monitoring: detect acute changes and escalate as needed.
  • Administer and monitor therapies, including IVs and medications, per policy.
  • Manage rapidly changing situations and anticipate patient needs.
  • Prioritize and coordinate multiple patient needs to ensure timely care.
  • Advise and advocate for patients, promoting comfort and dignity; educate patients about conditions.

  • Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results).
  • Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
  • Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
  • Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
  • Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
  • Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s condition and their interpretation of his or her illness.

Required

  • Associate Of Nursing Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Equivalent and, upon hire
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Program and, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire and
  • AHA Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 120 Days and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 120 Days

Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Nursing Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Equivalent or Higher, upon hire
