Job summary

Clean Harbors located in La Porte, TX is seeking a Receiving Chemist to join our team. The role involves using a forklift to offload trailers, verifying incoming loads, and QC of fuel drums. Shifts run 6:30am-3:00pm, Mon-Fri with rotating Saturdays; OT as needed. Pay is $21/hour.

As part of our team, you’ll handle receiving, labeling, sampling, and QA/QC documentation while using Clean Harbors WIN software for tracking and billing. Health benefits apply after 30 days of full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Warehouse, Quality Control, Chemical Handling, Laboratory, or Inventory Management.
• Forklift operating experience is required.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Windows-based applications.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks at a time.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Health and Safety is the top priority by following all safe work practices.
• Receives all incoming containers and assigns proper disposal/outbound profile.
• Samples incoming containers and performs basic chemical analysis.
• Completes paperwork for consolidation and tracks waste using WIN system.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of SOPs.
• Uses forklift to offload/re-load drums and transport containers.
• Calibrates lab instrumentation and ensures QA/QC compliance.
• Conveys critical information to stakeholders in real time.
• Tracks containers via Clean Harbors systems and scanners.
• Manages supplies and housekeeping in area of responsibility.
