Job summary

White Cap is hiring a Receiving Associate in Connecticut. You will receive, count, and store items, record data, and ensure accurate stock handling while coordinating with shipping vendors and purchasing to resolve delivery issues.

A forklift background and Oracle experience are preferred, with 0–2 years in a warehouse setting. This role supports a growing network of branches and contributes to our safety and accuracy standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in receiving or warehouse environment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with sales order software (Oracle preferred).

Responsibilities

• Receives, counts and stores items.
• Records receiving data using computer and company software.
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items.
• Identifies incorrect or short shipped items and notifies supervisor.
• Communicates with shipping vendors to resolve delivery issues.
• Delivers products to designated areas.
• Tracks shortages with purchasing for late deliveries.
• Files purchase orders correctly per policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

A Receiving Associate at White Cap

• Receives, counts and stores items.
• Records receiving data using a computer and company software.
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items properly and accurately.
• Identifies incorrect or short shipped items and notifies supervisor.
• Communicates with shipping vendors to resolve delivery issues.
• Delivers products, supplies and equipment to the correct designated area.
• Works closely with purchasing to track shortages for late/slow delivery.
• Files purchase orders correctly based on company policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Generally has 0-2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 4 PM
• Prior experience operating a forklift.
• Experience with sales order computer software, preferably Oracle.
• Knowledge of construction and industrial products.
