Job summary

Albertsons Companies Inc. is seeking a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC) at Randalls in Berkeley, CA. You will oversee Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensure merchandise is received and stocked accurately, and walk the store daily to monitor inventory status.

You’ll collaborate with store leadership, vendors, and team members to maintain stock integrity, handle damaged or recyclable items, and support promotional readiness in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with receiving, tracking, and reconciling inventory in a retail/grocery environment.
• Basic computer skills including email, Excel, and familiarity with store portals or inventory systems.
• Ability to monitor damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and process returns for credit accurately.
• Strong ability to maintain cleanliness, security, and order in backrooms and receiving areas.
• Capable of independent decision-making and resolving inventory/delivery issues.
• Effective interaction with vendors, delivery drivers, store management, and associates.

Job description

A Day in the Life:

As a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC), you’ll be overseeing all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring merchandise is accurately received, accounted for, and stocked. You’ll walk the store daily to scan DSD items, identify out-of-stock or overstock conditions, and partner closely with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk. You’ll also communicate regularly with the Store Director to support inventory accuracy and promotional execution. Your role includes monitoring donations, managing grocery and non-perishable inventories, and maintaining a secure, clean, and organized backroom environment. If you’re detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced setting, this role offers a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to store operations.
