Job summary

Chesapeake Spice Co in Belcamp, MD is seeking an Inventory Control Receiver to unload and store inbound shipments and perform basic warehouse duties under the direction of the Inventory Control Manager.

The role is full-time, 1st shift with an hourly pay range of $20.00–$22.00. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and 2+ years in warehouse/inventory control, forklift experience, and proficiency with WMS and MS Office; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience.
  • 2+ years in distribution or warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years in inventory control.
  • Strong math and communication skills.
  • Forklift training and certification preferred.
  • Experience with WMS and MS Office.
  • Detail oriented with analytical skills.
  • Able to work 40+ hours/week, lift up to 50-100 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and report potentially non-conforming products by visual inspection.
  • Unload and receive incoming shipments and packages.
  • Handle all shipment receipt paperwork.
  • Review inventory reports and determine root cause of discrepancies.
  • Operate forklift and consolidate materials in the WMS.
  • Physically consolidate materials using forklift equipment.
  • Support other departments and fulfill subsidiary requests.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.
  • Available to work overtime.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The primary role of the Inventory Control Receiver is to unload and store all inbound shipments and other basic warehouse duties as directed by the Inventory Control Manager by implementing, following, and enforcing inventory control practices and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Required to identify and report potentially non-conforming products by visual inspection.
  • Unload and receive incoming shipments and packages.
  • Handle all shipment receipt paperwork.
  • Review inventory reports and determine root cause of inventory discrepancies.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Systemic consolidation of materials in our WMS.
  • Physical consolidation of materials using forklift equipment.
  • Facilitate support of all departments and subsidiary requests.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Must be available to work overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED or relative work experience (4 years of relative work experience
  • 2+ years in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years working in inventory control.
  • Strong math skills and communication skills.
  • Prior forklift training and certification preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office.
  • Experience with WMS.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong oral comprehension and expression skills.
  • Able to work independently or with a team.
  • Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
  • Prior forklift experience/certification preferred.
  • Dependability with a sense of urgency.
  • Able to work 40+ hours per week on their feet in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs frequently.
  • Walk long distances repeatedly and climb stairs or ladders.
  • Work in an environment that is dusty and may contain spices with high heat.
  • Regular kneeling, bending, reaching and handling.
  • Talking/ hearing conversations.
  • Vision requirements: near and far visual acuity/visual accommodation.
  • Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures.
