Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC is seeking a forklift operator for our Texas facility. The role focuses on loading, unloading, and moving materials using a forklift, while adhering to safety and productivity standards.

You will sort and stock materials, log orders, and keep a clean, organized work area. Must be 18+ with forklift experience; shift differential applies to second shift, and comprehensive site benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read and write English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience/ability to drive a forklift.
• Willing to work safely, multi-task, and work in a team; pneumatic tools/manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks, operates a standard forklift and related equipment; moving materials throughout the plant.
• Unloads incoming materials from trailers using a forklift or other equipment, checks quantities, and enters orders into the computer.
• Organizes and stocks raw materials, keeps area clean, and maintains workstation after shift.
• Follows safety and efficiency procedures and keeps workstation neat and orderly.
• Performs daily forklift maintenance checks.

$18/HR plus a $1 differential when working on second shift

What You'll Do

• Loads and unloads trucks, operates a standard forklift and related equipment and tools; moving materials throughout the plant.


• Unloads incoming materials from trailers using a forklift or other equipment or tools, checks quantities and item descriptions against purchasing order, and enter orders into thecomputer


• Organizes and/or stocks raw materials in the work area, follow departmental housekeeping requirements, and leaves the work environment and equipment clean at the end ofshift


• Performs all duties according to established safety and efficiency procedures and maintains workstation in a neat,cleanand orderlyfashion


• Performs daily checks for maintenance and safe operation of theforklift

How You'll Do It

• Ability to sort items along with good organizational skills


• Good hand/eye coordination


• Prior Experience/Ability to drive a forklift


• Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions, loading schedules and production tickets. Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions; communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully; and work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.
