Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Orlando, FL is hiring a Receiver to support warehouse operations. You will receive and log goods, verify against orders, and prepare items for storage. The role requires attention to dates and packaging, along with safe operation of equipment and RF tools.

No prior experience is required, and forklift certification will be provided upon hire. The shift runs 3:00 AM to 11:30 AM with starting pay at $16 per hour, offering a strong team culture and opportunities to grow

This commitment is made clear by the superior meat and seafood specialty products we distribute.There's a seat at our table for you…Starting at: $16/hr.Schedule: 3:00AM to 11:30AMPosition Summary:Receives, logs and issue materials to stockroom, warehouse or designated location.Essential Functions:Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.Checks goods for damage and expiration dates.Identify and account for all histamine products (seafood only).Sorts, counts and checks received items.Maintains required clerical records.Operates warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage area and place in designated location.Identify damaged packaging and/or possible cross contaminated product.Perform returns.Maintain and rotate cooler and freezer (USDA only).Inventory control (USDA only).Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV)Equipment / Tools / Technology:Must be able to understand the basic functions of a Radio Frequency handheld computer.Pallet jack, hand trucksShrink wrap/stretch wrap equipmentBox cutterInternet, email, and other applicationsKnowledge of WMS RF system of inventoryAbility to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV)Educational & Experience Requirements:No previous experience needed.Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment certification or license.High School / Equivalent preferred.You are required to provide your most recent employment experience for your application to be considered complete.BE PART OF AN AMAZING CULTURE WHERE WHAT MATTERS TO YOU, MATTERS TO US!Halperns' Steak & Seafood values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
