Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Texas is hiring a Receiver to be the gatekeeper for store products arriving from vendors. You will inspect items for temperature, shortages, and damage, and maintain accurate backroom storage and receiving paperwork.

You will work independently with the store team and vendors in a fast-paced environment, using basic math, communication skills, and reliability to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years of receiving experience.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with team and leadership.
• Ability to inspect all incoming products for temperature, shortages, overages, damage and quality.
• Basic math, proper retail receiving knowledge, and basic computer literacy.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and move pallets up to 1,000 lbs with a pallet jack.
• Follows safety and sanitation procedures.
• Willing to varied hours/days.

Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Receiver is the gatekeeper for many of our products that are brought to the store from our vendors. Your attention to detail must be at a heightened level as you will be receiving all products for the store.

• Responsible for inspecting products for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, and damages.
• Using basic mathematical operations and organization skills to properly manage the backroom storage.
• Responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to the receiving duties and role.
• Will work independently and maintain effective communication with the Store team and third-party vendors.
• Must thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

To be a Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED and 1‑2 years receiving experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that changes with the business, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work independently while possessing strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members/Store leadership; must prioritize and multitask.
• Must have the ability to receive all product for the store, inspecting it for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, damage, and quality.
• Knowledgeably communicate with service vendors, understand proper retail receiving, perform simple math operations, and have basic computer knowledge.
• This position requires moving/transferring products weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5" to 56", for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1,000 lbs., requiring a force up to lbs. for a distance up to 15 feet for up to 40 hours.
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product.
• Maintain courteous relationship with drivers and vendors.
• Follows Sprouts standards as they pertain to receiving practices and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
