South Shore YMCA in Quincy, MA is seeking a Jr. Gymnastics Coach to lead Pre-School and school-age gymnastics and cheerleading classes; depending on experience, you may coach teams as well. Reports to the Program Director – Gymnastics.

You will follow class curricula and USA Gymnastics guidelines for skill levels, age appropriateness, and safety, and you will adhere to YMCA and the studio’s rules and policies, demonstrating strong teaching and spotting skills along with organizational abilities.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift & move gymnastics equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Possess effective teaching & coaching skills.
  • Have a working knowledge of the fundamental skills & progressions in the gymnastics program.
  • Possess proper spotting techniques.
  • Possess organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coach Pre-School & school-age Gymnastics & cheerleading classes; may coach teams depending on experience.

Job description

Jr. Gymnastics Coach Reports to: Program Director – Gymnastics.

Core Expectations
  • Responsible for coaching Pre‑School & school‑age Gymnastics & cheerleading classes. Depending on coaching experience, the Gymnastics Coach may also coach some gymnastics & cheerleading teams.
  • Follows class curriculum as well as USA Gymnastics guidelines for skill level, age appropriation & safety.
  • Follows all YMCA as well as the Gymnastics studio’s rules & policies.
Age Requirements

Can be under the age of 18 with proper work permit.
