Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) in Charlotte, NC seeks a production/fabrication operator to join our team. You will learn and operate rebar fabrication equipment and related machinery in a hands-on role with supportive teams.

You’ll train on applicable equipment, assist with loading/unloading stock, maintain a clean work area, and follow established safety procedures as part of CMC’s safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions.
• Able and willing to cross train as required.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations.
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits.
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues.
• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
• Operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture.
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.
