Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Midwest in Belvidere, IL is hiring an Estimator to prepare timely estimates of quantities for reinforcing bars, mesh and related products. You will participate in bids and contribute to competitive proposals with trainer guidance.

The role requires reading construction drawings, proficiency with Takeoff and aSa Estimating software, and a technical degree. You’ll join a safety‑driven team with growth opportunities and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree from an accredited school.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings (structural, architectural, civil).
• Knowledge of CRSI/ACI standards and reinforced concrete practices.
• Proficient working knowledge of aSa Estimating.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely estimates of quantities for fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, and related products for bidding.
• Review plans to assess project scope and bidding strategy with guidance from Estimating Lead.
• Progress to more complex projects and communicate workload effectively to the Estimating Lead.
• Utilize Takeoff Software and aSa Estimating Software to support bids.
• Coordinate with sales teammates regarding estimating and bidding process.
• Self-review work for scope, completeness, and accuracy.
