Job Description

The Waste Pro Automated Side Load Driver operates refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. Oversees helpers, performs vehicle inspections, and maintains safety and cleanliness standards.

Essential Job Functions

1. Safely drives trucks on pre-established routes, collecting and dumping refuse properly.
2. Provides courteous and efficient customer service.
3. Maintains a positive attitude towards company, customers, and municipal goals.
4. Ensures proper pickup and transfer of refuse and recyclables.
5. Performs daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
6. Maintains truck cleanliness and performs minor maintenance.
7. Handles manual cleanup duties and operates hydraulics for large bins.
8. Prepares and submits required reports and documentation.
9. Supervises persons working on the vehicle during routes.
10. Complies with all DOT and state requirements for commercial vehicle operation.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• At least 21 years old.
• Understanding of refuse collection policies and DOT regulations.
• Normal hearing and vision capabilities.
• Ability to operate refuse trucks and heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain records.
• Proficiency in English communication.

Physical and Work Environment

Must be able to lift and push 50 pounds frequently, work in various weather conditions, and work 8-12 hours per day. Accommodations may be made for disabilities.

The work environment includes temperature variations, noise, fumes, and odors.

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend training courses as assigned.
• Stay updated with current technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
