Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Product Development Engineer to manage release CAD and BOM structures, ensure supplier data integration, and lead design improvements for both current and future models. You will perform feasibility analyses, drive manufacturing feasibility, and support launches in Ford assembly plants.

The role requires 8+ years in automotive/aerospace, a strong background in rear closures, sheet metal structures, and CAD tools (CATIA/3DX, Teamcenter).

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage product release CAD and BOM structures, including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis.
• Facilitate supplier data integration and develop CAD studies for design improvements.
• Lead on-site build support and issue resolution for prototype, pre-builds, and production of components and systems.
• Deliver current model quality and cost improvements alongside future model programs.
• Perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools (draft angle, undercut detection, bend radius, clearance).
• Engineer CAD and lead analytical/physical analyses to meet prescribed requirements.
• Support product testing, PSW delivery, and launches within Ford assembly plants.
