Job summary

LVIS is seeking a senior WebGL/graphics engineer to own and extend the in-browser EEG visualization stack, including a custom WebGL2 engine and a Three.js-based brain model. You will optimize GPU-based signal processing, collaborate with neuroscientists, and drive performance across large streaming datasets.

The role requires deep WebGL2/GLSL expertise, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and experience with browser-based, data-intensive visualization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with substantial hands-on WebGL 2.0 / GLSL development.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6) / TypeScript skills.
• Direct experience writing and debugging GLSL shaders and working with GPU buffers/textures/render pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining complex, interactive browser-based applications handling large or streaming datasets.
• BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and extend our custom WebGL2 rendering engine used for real time EEG waveform and signal visualization.
• Maintain and build out our Three.js based 3D brain visualization components (source localization, spike and seizure networks, and related views).
• Design and implement GPU accelerated signal processing techniques for in browser filtering and data preparation.
• Optimize GPU and CPU performance, memory use, and rendering throughput for large, continuously streamed datasets.
• Write and optimize GLSL shaders for custom rendering and data processing pipelines.
• Integrate visualization components into our Vue based frontend application.
• Collaborate with neuroscientists and clinical specialists to implement algorithms and reference implementations as production software.
• Profile and resolve rendering performance issues, memory issues, visual artifacts, and browser/GPU compatibility problems.
• Contribute to frontend architecture, code quality, and technical design reviews.
