Job summary

ZELUS USA LLC is seeking a Reality Capture Technician for on-site LiDAR scanning at client sites, primarily in Santa Teresa, NM. The role requires independent work, precise data collection, and professional client interaction.

You will operate scanners such as Leica RTC/P40, NavVis VLX, and perform registration using Leica Register 360 or Cyclone, ensuring data quality and safety compliance per OSHA 10 requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of LiDAR scanning and reality capture experience.
• Experience with scanners such as Leica RTC, Leica P40, Faro, or similar.
• OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience performing on-site data collection on large-scale/high-tech construction sites.

Responsibilities

Job description

Location: Based in Santa Teresa, NM - On site work

Exciting opportunity with training provided! This role is an on-site opportunity with work being completed in Santa Teresa, NM. The Reality Capture Technician is responsible for independently conducting LiDAR scans of land and structures at client site. This role is also responsible for reregistering all scans with Leica Register 360 and Cyclone software. Experience with LiDAR scanning technologies preferred, and seeking candidates with a passion for technology and learning, and a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection. The Reality Capture Technician also serves as a key point of contact for the client, representing ZELUS professionally and ensuring exceptional service. All collected data will play a critical role in supporting BIM/VDC models. This role is 100% on-site with varying working hours based on client and project need.

Responsibilities:

Field Operations:

• Conduct high-precision LiDAR scans of client sites, ensuring complete and accurate data collection.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain scanning equipment, including RTC Leica or similar.
• Perform reality capture registration and ensure high-quality processing of collected data.
• Input scans and detailed, accurate data into company systems for further modeling and analysis.
• Review scan results to confirm data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
• Stay up to date with emerging reality capture technologies and industry advancements.

Client Interaction:

• Serve as a ZELUS representative on-site, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service.
• Communicate effectively with clients, addressing any questions or concerns during the scanning process.
• Support the development of strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.

Technology & Software:

• Hands-on experience using LiDAR scanning equipment, such as RTC Leica, P40 Leica, NavVis VLX, and/or similar models.
• Preferred but not required: Experience with reality capture registration software, including Leica Register 360 or Cyclone.

Safety & Compliance:

• Identify and mitigate potential safety risks in the field.
• Ensure compliance with Construction OSHA 10/30 standards and project-specific safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one to two years of experience in LiDAR scanning and reality capture, preferred.
• Prior experience with scanners like Leica RTC, Leica P40, Faro, or similar.
• Experience working on large-scale high-tech construction sites.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring high accuracy in scans and data processing.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for client-facing interactions.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site.
• Passion for technology and learning, with the ability to adapt to evolving industry tools.
• OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain certification, within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with reality capture registration is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Leica Register 360 or Cyclone software is highly preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Physical and Travel Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, and move across uneven terrain for extended periods.
• Lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) regularly during field operations.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Must be willing to travel for training purposes, or to support client sites, as necessary.
• Ability to safely drive rental vehicles to client sites.
