Job summary

Brevan Howard offers a 2027 Summer Internship Program in Systematic Trading Technology in New York. You will work with senior professionals on projects spanning order execution, market data handling, and tooling used by traders, gaining exposure to the full software lifecycle in a fast-paced hedge fund environment.

The program includes one week of training, mentorship, talks, and social events, with the potential path to the 2028 Graduate Program.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year undergraduate or 1st-year master/PhD student; graduation before July 2028.
• Strong mathematical, quantitative, problem-solving abilities; proficient in Excel, VBA and R.
• Programming experience in Java; familiarity with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Linux, Git and SQL is a plus.
• Interest in building reliable, low-latency systems and in financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend real-time services for order execution and trading workflow.
• Work on market data capture, normalization and delivery to systematic strategies.
• Develop tooling and interfaces used daily by portfolio managers and traders.
• Contribute tests, instrumentation and monitoring for production trading systems.
