Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Software Developer for Early Systems Integration to join a team modernizing UK airspace systems. The role is based in Gaithersburg, MD; Eagan, MN; or Egg Harbor, NJ with a 50% hybrid schedule.

You will design, develop and test real-time, high-availability software, mentor junior integrators, participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 4–8 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 2–6 years.
• Strong object-oriented programming experience.
• Proficiency in Perl, Python and shell scripting.
• Experience developing real-time, multi-threaded, high-availability systems.
• Experience leading integration and test activities for complex software systems.
• Experience with Linux environments (Red Hat), VMs and hypervisors.
• Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP.
• Experience with hardware or complex system integration.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute integration and test plans, procedures, and cases to verify system functionality and performance.
• Participate in agile software development activities as part of a collaborative team.
• Translate complex requirements into efficient, maintainable software test plans.
• Lead and mentor junior integrators, promoting best practices in integration and verification.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support SW/build teams.
• Collaborate with engineers and program leadership to ensure testability and schedule alignment.
• Promote cross-program collaboration and sustainable development practices.
• Support system integration activities, including hardware interfaces.
