Job summary

Craig Technologies is seeking an Aerospace Spacecraft Operations Controller to oversee real-time laser communications payloads and ground systems from the LMOC at White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM. You will monitor telemetry, execute commands, and ensure asset health through its lifecycle.

The role requires strict adherence to procedures, rotating shifts, and the ability to work on-site in a high-stakes environment with top security clearance.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; US citizen.
• Bachelor or Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field plus 2 years of direct satellite operations experience.
• Must be physically located at White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM; rotating shifts; not remote.
• Proven ability to follow technical procedures, checklists, and contingency plans.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; able to work in high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

• Real-Time Operations: console operator for satellite payload contacts; configure, test, and control ground equipment across pass windows.
• Data & Mission Analysis: task scheduling, data trending, performance analysis, and anomaly resolution.
• Documentation & Procedures: assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, on-console handbooks, support plans, and test plans.
• Conflict Resolution: conduct real-time conflict resolutions to optimize data acquisition for multiple customers.
• Anomaly Response: implement anomaly response plans and participate in tiger-team recoveries.
• Systems Evaluation: real-time evaluation of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems for mission safety and compliance.
• Schedule & Shift Structure: support 24/7 mission operations with rotating shifts, including nights and holidays.
