Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach is building an AI-forward autonomy stack for contested environments where GPS is unreliable. You will design and implement estimation and sensor-fusion algorithms powering navigation across product lines, working at the intersection of perception, state estimation and embedded systems.

You will contribute to real-time Linux/embedded software, calibration and time-sync across sensors, and develop evaluation pipelines for drift and relocalization.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with a BS/MS/PhD in CS/Robotics/EE/Aerospace or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong C++ on Linux and Python tooling.
• Experience with SLAM/state estimation and sensor fusion.
• Vision/VIO experience and on-edge deployment.
• Proven research-to-production delivery and field testing on real platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and productionize vision navigation and targeting features end-to-end from simulation to HITL to flight with production C++.
• Turn detections (EO/IR/RF/radar) into measurement models with latencies/covariances; ensure estimator state integrity.
• Stabilize GNSS to VIO handover with adaptive covariances and reset-less alignment.
• Build and optimize real-time software on Linux/embedded; profile CPU/GPU; CUDA/TensorRT on Jetson as needed.
• Own calibration and time-sync across IMU/cameras/radar/LiDAR/GNSS; validate in flight.
• Create evaluation pipelines and dashboards for drift, stability, relocalization, track quality.
• Implement fault detection and graceful degradation for harsh conditions.
• Integrate global aids (maps, magnetics, radar) for long-term consistency.
