Job summary

Mind Robotics Inc. is building a runtime platform for real-time robotic systems in industrial environments. The Tech Lead will own the development of the robotics runtime, ensuring low-latency communication between modules and real-time guarantees for control loops.

You'll work hands-on to optimize inference-serving paths, multi-sensor synchronization, and middleware architecture, partnering with modeling teams to translate requirements into robust platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong systems programming experience in Python and/or Rust.
• Hands-on robotics middleware experience with ROS2 and DDS.
• Real-time systems knowledge: scheduling, latency, hard real-time concepts.
• Experience with embedded/edge Linux and cross-compilation.
• Ability to design and review middleware, architectures, and safety margins.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the robotics runtime/middleware layer with low latency.
• Own the inference-serving path for onboard models and hardware acceleration.
• Architect multi-sensor synchronization for coherent closed-loop control.
• Make critical build-vs-buy and architecture decisions for middleware and hardware.
• Set technical standards and perform design/code reviews across runtime engineering.
• Prototype new directions and collaborate with research to translate model needs.
