Job summary

Amazon Robotics Cosmos is seeking a Software Development Engineer I to help build and scale our real-time data infrastructure that collects, processes, and delivers telemetry from robotic workcells across Amazon's fulfillment network.

You will design and implement components of the Cosmos data pipeline, write production code in Java and TypeScript, and collaborate with robotics engineering, data science, and BI teams to monitor and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new or existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software applications and services.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Cosmos data pipeline components (ingestion, stream processing, data lake storage).
• Write clean, well-tested production code for real-time and batch data processing.
• Collaborate with robotics engineering teams to onboard new event types and data models.
• Participate in monitoring, alarming, and on-call support for team-owned services.
• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning in an agile team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems across service boundaries.
