Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking a mid-level Back-End Developer (Python/API) for a permanent FTE assignment with one of our premier AI and Financial Technology clients.

Local to NYC or Miami, you will join a small engineering team building a cloud-native Portfolio Management System for a hedge fund from the ground up. The role focuses on Bloomberg connectivity, Python back-end, and real-time market data ingestion, with MVP delivery targeted by year-end.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Hands-on Bloomberg API integration experience.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience.
• Cloud development experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build scalable REST APIs for cloud-native financial applications.
• Integrate with Bloomberg and other market data providers for real-time data ingestion.
• Develop real-time backend services using WebSockets and event-driven architectures.
• Design scalable PostgreSQL databases and data models; use Snowflake where applicable.
• Deploy and support applications within Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with client and firm engineering leads during U.S. East Coast hours.
