Job summary

bp seeks a Real Time Power Trader/Scheduler to manage BP's physical power obligations across NERC regions, driving scheduling, tracking, and balancing of schedules with strict compliance.

Role requires knowledge of ISO protocols, WECC markets, and strong analytical capabilities. The position supports BP's North American assets and operates in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Experience scheduling and trading power.
• Knowledge of market rules and ISO protocols.
• Understanding of optimization and scheduling of power assets.
• Familiarity with US ISOs CAISO, MISO, PJM.
• Experience in bilateral WECC markets.
• Understanding of OASIS and OATI-E-tag environments.
• Able to multi-task under pressure in a dynamic setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Ability to develop analytical models and interpret market data.
• Ability to work 24/7 rotating shifts.
• Participate in bp’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

Responsibilities

• Real Time Trader handles operational duties for BP's physical power obligations across NERC regions.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Support development and implementation of Power team's strategy.
• Provide analytical support to Power traders on request.
• Assist BP affiliates and relationships.
• Help optimize BP’s North American assets.
