Job summary

TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America, Inc. in Houston seeks a Real-Time Power Trader/Dispatcher to execute trading strategies for power assets, manage real-time risk, and ensure safe, reliable execution around the clock.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience, an undergraduate degree, and familiarity with Python, R or MATLAB, plus strong Excel data analysis. 12-hour rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation are expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, engineering, business administration, or equivalent.
• Foundational understanding of the North American power industry, commodity and financial trading, and risk management.
• Preferred experience with Python, R, or MATLAB and strong quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute real-time asset-backed trading for power assets.
• Monitor SCADA/EMS systems for reliable operation.
• Identify and capture market opportunities through real-time position management.
• Maximize asset-backed revenue through economic dispatch and operational excellence.
• Submit bids to ancillary services markets.
• Collect, query, and analyze large datasets in Excel, and present analytical findings.
• Prioritize deliverables and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with market participants and ISO operators.
