Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading Americas, LLC seeks a Real Time Power Trader to optimize the US portfolio via AI-enhanced analytics. The role emphasizes asset-backed, within-day and real-time trading across major nodal markets from Chicago, collaborating with Day-Ahead Traders, Analysts, Dispatch, and Asset Management.

Applicants should have a math/engineering/data science background with AI/ML experience and a solid grasp of PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, CAISO or ISO-NE.

Qualifications

University degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
Experience with AI/ML, quantitative modeling or advanced data analytics.
Experience with Generative AI / Azure OpenAI and cloud analytics.
Experience in energy or gas trading with nodal markets (PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, CAISO, ISO-NE).
Strong understanding of US power markets and real-time trading dynamics.

Responsibilities

Execute asset-backed within-day and real-time trading strategies across US nodal power markets.
Develop AI/ML models and analytical tools for real-time market analysis and trading decisions.
Use AI and analytics to identify market patterns and trading opportunities.
Deploy trading capital with disciplined risk management.
Coordinate with Day-Ahead Traders, Analysts, Dispatch and Asset Management to optimize portfolio.
Support backtesting of trading strategies and compare with benchmarks.
Expand Short-Term Trading capabilities across additional US ISOs and markets.
