New Smyrna Beach Utilities (NSBU) seeks a highly skilled technician to operate and control the electrical system, monitor generation and transmission equipment, and execute real-time actions to ensure stable operation. You will work with ESRI GIS and complex computer systems, and collaborate with the System Operations Manager.

Requires a high school diploma, 3+ years of experience, and a Florida Class E driver's license. NERC BT/RC certification is required.

Formación

• Must have strong understanding of electrical systems and ability to operate complex computer equipment.
• Experience with ESRI GIS is a plus and desirable for data handling and reporting.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills required.

Responsabilidades

• Operates complex computer equipment and ESRI-based GIS.
• Prepares regular written reports regarding all phases of system loading; maintains logs and reports on interchange transactions.
• Establishes operational and equipment alarm limits.
• Assists in trouble shooting defective systems and devices.
• Makes purchasing decisions on the best economical source of power at any given time; makes calculations on load flows. Operates Outage Management System during outages.
• Answers questions from general public during outages.
• Performs duties of Dispatcher, when needed.
