Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer Software Developer within the GSM-O II GAINS Team to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines for the DISN network. The RTV team focuses on collecting, storing, and analyzing large volumes of network operations data from logs, metrics, events, tickets, and CMDBs to enable mission-ready analytics.

Candidates will work in an Agile environment, implement Kafka/Elastic solutions, and contribute to CI/CD and data governance while ensuring DoD security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 4+ years experience.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Experience with data warehouse/data lake tech (AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, Snowflake, etc.).
• Proficiency with Python, Java, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Experience with Elastic Stack and Kafka for ingestion/processing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data systems and pipelines for analytics.
• Unify data from multiple network ops systems into a consistent platform.
• Implement solutions using Confluent Kafka, Elastic Stack, AWS, and OpenShift.
• Develop data warehouses and data lakes to support dashboards and analytics.
• Optimize ingestion throughput, query performance, and storage efficiency.
• Automate ETL/ELT, data validation, monitoring, and CI/CD integration.
