American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Real-Time Market Operations professional to manage a 24-hour RTMO desk, ensuring compliance with NERC, RTO, and FERC hydro licensing while maintaining reliable grid operations.

The role involves real-time optimization, coordination with RTOs and plant teams, and adherence to RTMO procedures. A PJM certification within 18 months is required, with 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends.

Formación

• Education requirements: two-year technical degree or two years military service in related field; OR High School diploma/GED with 2 years relevant, industrial work experience.
• Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience that demonstrates ability to operate a power system; power industry or power plant experience is a plus.
• Licenses/Certifications: Must obtain PJM Certification within 18 months of hiring.

Responsabilidades

• Operate a 24-hour RTMO desk to ensure compliance with NERC, RTO, and FERC hydro licensing and reliable operation of assets.
• Perform risk-balanced real-time optimization and real-time communications with RTOs, TOP groups, plants, and counterparties.
• Follow RTMO policies and complete reporting and training requirements; support continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
