Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation in Ann Arbor seeks a Java Developer to guide development and maintenance of the award-winning thinkorswim platforms. You will join a team of engineers on a sophisticated trading platform, collaborating with UX/design, business, and technology partners.

Responsibilities include building features on the thinkorswim Services Gateway, delivering high-transaction desktop trading systems, and driving quality through agile, test-driven development with automation tooling.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years in a professional software development role delivering production code.
• 2+ years Java/J2EE with Spring Framework and Java Swing.
• 2+ years distributed, real-time systems with databases and messaging.
• Experience with high-transaction, low-latency desktop trading or similar.
• RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, and reusable frameworks.
• Experience with build, deploy, test automation in Agile environments.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Unix/Linux/Windows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain thinkorswim trading platforms and Services Gateway using Java/J2EE.
• Engineer high-performance, real-time trading systems with concurrency and multi-threading.
• Deliver quality via test-driven development and automation (Gradle, Maven, TeamCity, JUnit).
• Collaborate to design reusable APIs, frameworks, and core business logic.
