Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Software Architect to lead the definition and realization of real-time, safety-critical flight software architectures for autonomous space vehicles. This hands-on technical leadership role guides the full software lifecycle from requirements to release, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet stringent safety standards.

The role focuses on embedded systems, RTOS, and C/C++ expertise, with agile project management and strong communication to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Experience in mission-critical software development.
• Proven experience defining and implementing architectures for embedded flight software.
• Strong experience in real-time embedded systems development and integration.
• Hands-on experience with flight control systems or aerospace software.

Responsibilities

• Define flight software architectures for real-time, safety-critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elicit requirements and designs.
• Lead verification to meet safety standards and requirements.
• Oversee fault-tolerant flight software for autonomous space vehicles.
• Design and integrate real-time embedded components for flight control.
• Lead unit testing and validation in HIL environments.
• Drive software releases aligned with mission requirements.
• Produce architecture and design documentation and test plans.
• Communicate progress and risks to stakeholders.
• Apply agile methodologies across the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership without direct people management.
