CAE USA Inc. in Binghamton, NY is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to develop and maintain flight and mission simulators. You will modernize legacy code, optimize real-time performance, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure integration with hardware for mission-ready capabilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS/CE, 5+ years in real-time software, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. Occasional overtime and CONUS travel may be expected as part of a dynamic defense program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of software engineering in mission-critical or real-time environments.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Flexibility for overtime, shift work, and CONUS travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for flight and mission simulators, ensuring reliability and performance for pilot training.
• Modernize legacy code while maintaining functionality, with optimization and stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware for real-time, mission-critical applications.
• Apply Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methods as appropriate to project needs.
• Write clean, efficient real-time code and participate in reviews and planning.
• Troubleshoot complex issues to meet high standards of safety and readiness.
