Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking a student-intern to assist in developing and testing embedded software for real-time control systems. You will gain exposure to CAN protocols, HMI development, and UI/UX design using Qt or LabVIEW, while contributing to Agile and DevOps practices with Git/GitHub.

You’ll collaborate with engineers on system validation, documentation through PLM (Dassault 3DX), and exposure to functional safety standards ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Exposure to embedded programming through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with CAN protocols, RTOS, and UI/UX tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and testing embedded software using C, C++, or MATLAB/Simulink for real-time control systems.
• Support integration and debugging of control systems using CAN protocols and tools.
• Help develop HMI and contribute to UI/UX design with Qt or LabVIEW.
• Participate in Agile development and DevOps workflows (CI/CD using Git/GitHub).
• Collaborate with engineers to support system validation and documentation using PLM systems (e.g., Dassault Systèmes 3DX).
• Learn about functional safety standards ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
