Job summary

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will support Army Air Defense programs as part of a multi-contractor team.

Qualified applicants have strong OO development with Java and C++, Linux environments, scripting (Bash, Python), and experience with Git/GitLab, SAFe, Jira and Confluence. A DoD SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience; Master’s 3 years; PhD 1 year.
• Strong OO software development in Java and C++.
• Proficiency with Linux development environments and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with Git/GitLab and Agile SAFe practices (Jira/Confluence).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software systems aligned with program objectives.
• Work in SAFe Scrum teams to develop software across baselines.
• Operate in fast-paced, collaborative settings across organization.
• Perform software development and upgrades in multiple languages while preserving behavior.
• Support documentation using Markdown and collaboration tools.
• Assist testing activities and improve test effectiveness and automation.
