Job summary

QTEC Aerospace in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to join a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain high-throughput, object-oriented applications using Python and other OO languages; perform analysis, testing, and integration; mentor junior engineers; and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5+ years of experience; 6 years may substitute for degree.
• Proven track record building high-performance applications.
• Experience with automated testing, best practices, and collaborative mindset.
• Proficient in Python and at least one more OO language (e.g., Java, C#, C++).
• Experience with software integration and formal testing.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput OO applications using Python and other OO languages.
• Provide deep technical expertise across multiple software disciplines and understanding of systemwide implications.
• Perform analysis, design, coding, unit and integration testing, and performance benchmarking.
• Debug, configure, and maintain existing code; create tools to improve productivity.
