QTEC Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will support Army Air Defense programs as part of a multi-contractor team.

Qualified applicants have strong OO development with Java and C++, Linux environments, scripting (Bash, Python), and experience with Git/GitLab, SAFe, Jira and Confluence. A DoD SECRET clearance is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience; Master’s 3 years; PhD 1 year.
• Strong OO software development in Java and C++.
• Proficiency with Linux development environments and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with Git/GitLab and Agile SAFe practices (Jira/Confluence).

Job Summary QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Army Air Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and software systems that implement logical and mathematical solutions that are aligned with program objectives
• Participate in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Scrum teams to develop and maintain software products across multiple software baselines
• Work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels of the organization
• Perform software development and upgrades in multiple programming languages/versions while minimizing changes to the operational behavior of tactical software
• Support documentation creation and updates using Markdown and other collaboration tools
• Support testing activities including unit and functional testing, code coverage analysis, and static code analysis; contribute to continuous improvement of test effectiveness and automation

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field from an accredited college and at least 5 years of relevant experience; 3 Years relevant experience with Master’s degree; 1 Year of relevant experience with PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment daily
• Strong object-oriented software development experience with Java and C++
• Proficiency in Linux-based development and runtime environments. Experience with scripting languages and tools including Bash and Python
• Experience with modern configuration management and source control tools (Git / GitLab)
• Experience with Agile SAFe and Atlassian Agile tools including Jira and Confluence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
• Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including Cameo or similar tools
• Experience utilizing Jenkins or similar CI/CD pipelines to build, integrate, and test software
• Experience supporting real-time or distributed systems using RTI/DDS publish/subscribe middleware
• Experience with the Open Service Gateway initiative (OSGi) framework
• CompTIA Security+
• Experience with XML for data exchange and configuration files
• Experience using Eclipse, VS Code, or similar IDEs for Java/C++ development
• Experience with external interfaces such as MIL-STD-6016 (Link 16), Blue Force Tracker (BFT), IBS, ADS-B, or similar tactical data links
• Radar track management experience on prior programs

Security Clearance

• Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance
