Job summary

Qualifications

• Attends court sessions and makes verbatim official records at high speed.
• Provides immediate readback of all or portions of the record on request.
• Prepares, or has prepared, verbatim transcripts and certifies accuracy; files official transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Operates stenotype and/or voice writing equipment to record proceedings and prepare a complete official record.
• Researches case citations and terminology as needed.
• Prepares indices of witnesses and exhibits; uses transcription equipment and office devices.
