Job summary

KBR is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to design, development, implementation, and testing of software for large-scale communications demonstrations at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Location is on-site with possible remote arrangements; travel up to CONUS is required.

Candidate will work in a disciplined team using modern programming practices, primarily in C++, with extensive experience in real-time software, distributed systems, and DevSecOps. Hybrid/remote options available.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field with real-time coding background.
• 5+ years of C++/C++11 experience.
• 5+ years of Java/Java Script experience.
• 5+ years of Source Control experience (Git/SVN/Clearcase).
• 5+ years of OO development and UML modelling.
• 5+ years of software deployment and DevSecOps knowledge.
• 5+ years of experience with distributed systems and IPC.
• 5+ years of Linux development or RTOS.
• 5+ years of experience with hardware abstraction layers.

Responsibilities

• Software architecture definition.
• System software design and implementation primarily in C++ with protocol/state-machine work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to prototype communications software.
• Integration, test design, and field/lab experiment support.
• Prepare technical docs, specifications, and presentations.
