Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of hospital or healthcare experience required.
• 2-4 years of hospital bed management or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns patient beds based on clinical needs, bed availability and policies.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges and intra-hospital transfers to optimize bed utilization.
• Monitors real-time bed availability using bed management systems and provides census updates.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership, admissions and physicians to prioritize during high census or emergencies.
• Communicates with housekeeping and patient transport to ensure bed readiness.
• Facilitates transfers to ICU, telemetry, maternity or other units based on clinical criteria.
• Maintains accurate documentation of bed assignments and movements in the EHR.
• Supports infection control by coordinating isolation or special room needs.
• Identifies and resolves bed availability issues with House Supervisor and leadership.
