Job summary

CHAOS Industries is hiring in San Francisco for an on-site backend engineer who will build real-time Python services to ingest, process, and distribute sensor data with low latency and high security. You will own the backend stack end-to-end, including streaming, storage, and replay of detections for live and playback visualizations.

The role requires strong production experience with Python (FastAPI or similar) and a track record of shipping reliable systems, with relocation to the SF Bay Area

Qualifications

• Strong production experience building backend services in Python (FastAPI or similar).
• Owned a production system end to end: designed it, shipped it, fixed it when it broke.
• Experience with real-time data processing and low-latency architectures.

Responsibilities

• Build high-performance Python services that ingest, process and distribute real-time sensor data with low latency.
• Own streaming, storage and replay of detections, tracks and telemetry for live and playback 3D geospatial views.
• Shape platform architecture for new capabilities, scale and long-term maintainability.
