Job summary

HDR is a global real estate services firm seeking a Real Estate Services Agent I to support right‑of‑way projects. You will perform due diligence, non‑complex negotiations, and prepare offer packages while maintaining detailed records and client communications.

The role requires a real estate license or equivalent training, familiarity with databases and GIS, and strong MS Office skills. Expect a mix of office and field work with flexible hours in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in real estate or 120 hours of documented real estate training.
  • Ability to understand and comply with federal, state and local laws and regulations related to real estate and right‑of‑way, including NEPA and FERC.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and basic negotiation/presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre‑negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence for acquisition of rights.
  • Review appraisals and just compensation; verify parcel on right‑of‑way plans, owners and interests; prepare offer packages; maintain records and contacts.
  • Perform other duties as needed and balance office/field work in a deadline‑driven environment.

In the role of Real Estate Services Agent I, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide pre‑negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence and non‑complex negotiations for acquisition of rights relative to public or private projects as assigned
  • Review appraisals and just compensation; verify parcel on right‑of‑way plans or plats; verify property owners and the extent of interests; prepare offer packages; and maintain complete and detailed records/files with owner contacts, maps, drawings, exhibits and detailed progress reports
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Real estate license in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law
  • Database and GIS familiarity
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in real estate or 120 hours of documented real estate training
  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations specific to the real estate and right‑of‑way industry, such as the Uniform Act, FERC and NEPA
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills, basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to work flexible hours and effectively with people of all types
  • Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners and occupants
  • Effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline‑sensitive manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Availability to work flexible hours and coordinate closely with management
