Job summary

CMS UK is seeking an enthusiastic Paralegal or Senior Paralegal with Real Estate experience to join our Legal Services Unit. The role focuses on supporting one of our energy and utilities clients by documenting land rights in Scotland and England via servitudes and easements, with a manageable caseload.

You will draft acquisition documents, negotiate with counterparties, perform title reviews, open files, ensure AML compliance, and manage completions, post‑completion registrations, and client

Qualifications

• Degree in law or equivalent qualification; CILEX route acceptable.
• Experience as a Real Estate paralegal or senior paralegal preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a large workload.

Job description

CMS is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Paralegal or Senior Paralegal, ideally with Real Estate experience, to join our Legal Services Unit.

The role will be focused on supporting one of our energy and utilities clients with documenting land rights in Scotland and England via servitudes and easements. This will include managing your own caseload of transactions, taking client instructions, negotiating the deeds and arranging completions.

About The Role

• Managing a busy caseload of transactions including liaising with the client to obtain instructions;
• Drafting the acquisition documentation, negotiating with the counterparty to the transaction and carrying out title reviews;
• Assisting with file opening procedures including preparing first draft of retainer letter and ensuring compliance with money laundering regulations;
• Working with data rooms and online trackers;
• Managing completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing and client signing / reporting requirements.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Real Estate-focused Paralegal. You will have a keen eye for detail with the ability to use your initiative and you must be used to dealing with a large workload. You may have a strong academic background and a degree in law or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, you may be working towards CILEX or have previous time-served Paralegal experience in a Real Estate background.
